Modern Slavery Statement
Tufnell Park Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Tufnell Park Removals in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all business dealings, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Tufnell Park Removals operates in the removals and relocations sector, providing moving, packing, storage, and associated services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, packaging materials, storage facilities, and occasional agency labour for support at peak times. We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and labour supply industries can be vulnerable to modern slavery risks, and we are determined to mitigate these risks proactively.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. This policy applies to all employees, workers, contractors, agency staff, and any third parties who act on our behalf. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that is involved in, or turns a blind eye to, modern slavery practices. Where we identify concerns or breaches, we will take decisive action, which may include the termination of contracts or business relationships.
Policies and Governance
Our zero-tolerance stance is supported by internal policies that cover ethical conduct, recruitment, health and safety, and whistleblowing. These policies reinforce our expectations that everyone who works with or for Tufnell Park Removals respects the rights and dignity of individuals. Managers are responsible for communicating these expectations to their teams and for escalating any concerns in line with our reporting procedures.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and comply with relevant labour, employment, and human rights legislation. As part of our due diligence, new and existing suppliers are assessed against our modern slavery standards. This includes reviewing their own policies, asking for assurances about labour practices, and reserving the right to conduct audits where appropriate.
We may carry out audits or site visits to higher-risk suppliers to verify compliance with our ethical requirements. Where gaps are identified, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to improve standards, but we will not hesitate to end relationships if unacceptable practices are found or if there is a failure to improve within a reasonable timeframe.
Training and Awareness
We provide relevant training and guidance to managers and key staff to help them identify the signs of modern slavery and understand the appropriate steps to take if they suspect any form of exploitation. We aim to foster a culture where ethical concerns are taken seriously and addressed promptly.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicions or knowledge of modern slavery, whether within our operations or in our supply chain. Concerns can be raised to line managers, senior management, or through internal reporting channels that are designed to be accessible and confidential.
We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith. Reports will be investigated promptly, thoroughly, and sensitively, and appropriate remedial or disciplinary action will be taken where necessary.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Tufnell Park Removals is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to modern slavery prevention. We regularly review our policies, due diligence processes, and training materials to ensure they remain effective and reflect current best practice and legal requirements.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis by our leadership team. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our controls, identify any emerging risks in our operations and supply chains, and update our actions and priorities accordingly. We are determined to keep strengthening our safeguards so that modern slavery has no place in our business or the businesses with which we work.
This statement has been approved by the management of Tufnell Park Removals and will be updated each year to reflect our ongoing commitment.
